HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

The modern cliché Valentine's Day poem can be found in the collection of English nursery rhymes Gammer Gurton's Garland (1784):
The rose is red, the violet's blue,The honey's sweet, and so are you.Thou art my love and I am thine;I drew thee to my Valentine:The lot was cast and then I drew,And Fortune said it shou'd be you.

Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14, as everyone would know. I have limited knowledge about it but as it’s a global celebration (though not a public holiday) of romance and love, I share my heartiest wishes to everyone. However, history indicates a bitter beginning. It’s about brutal sacrifices and martyrdom. The better part of the celebration only after Chaucer and Shakespeare brought this into the light of their works.

With so much of love from the Admin Sonam.
